Original Plan:
Peggy and Ken leave on Thursday, April 13 and fly to Vancouver (via Seattle). They fly Vancouver to Tokyo on Friday, April 14, arriving on Saturday, April 15.
Libby and Eric leave at 1:00 am on Saturday, April 15, and fly to Seattle. Later that day they fly to Tokyo, arriving on Sunday, April 16.
The Volcano’s Plan:
Most flights on April 13 and 14 will be cancelled. For good measure, at least one early flight on April 15 will be cancelled.
New Plan:

Libby and Eric leave at 1:00 am on Monday, April 17, and fly to Seattle. Later that day they fly to Tokyo, arriving on Tuesday, April 16.

Today my expectations were exceeded more than once. For one thing, I got a wonderful and unexpected coffee at the Alaska Lounge at the airport in Anchorage. It had marshmallows and whipped cream and chocolate syrup. Oh, my!
For another thing, we made it to Vancouver. Can you spell H-U-G-E R-E-L-I-E-F? Things are not 100% back to normal, but close enough.

Another thing. We are staying at the Hilton Vancouver Airport tonight. We got upgraded to a 2-room suite. There is a lot of interesting wood here.

I’m not surprised at those gorgeous figures at the Vancouver airport. (Which I’ve never been to.) To me, so much in that city is so beautiful and tasteful.
