Mamma Mia! - Oct 9

Starting the day with a cappuccino can be such a treat. Especially when it is made by an artist.

After breakfast I went to the Knitters and Knatters group to meet the other knitters, crocheters, quilters, embroiderers, and other crafty people. We had at least 12 people.

Later in the morning I went to a book club that had been organized on the Cruise Critic Roll Call. The book was The Happy Isles of Oceania, by Paul Theroux. It was a little bit like herding cats, and we didn’t really get to discuss the book, but we agreed to meet again in a few days.

Ken and I enjoyed a nice lunch on our balcony from room service. It was sunny and warm, but a little breezy. The water was fairly calm, and a pretty blue color.

It turns out we were in the lee of the ship, protected from most of the wind. We went for a walk after lunch, up on the top near the pickleball courts. It was a little too windy and cold to persevere out there.

After aperitifs in the concierge lounge, we ate dinner in one of the main dining rooms, in an area called the Reserve Collection. It was Italian night. Our first dinner there did not live up to the hype. I’m not going to go into the details. They won’t be interesting to most people.

After dinner we went to an ABBA tribute show, performed by Ashley Rose Smith. It was a fun show that reminded me how good ABBA’s music was.

It was a typical day at sea - lots of activities and lots of food. For the most part, we forgot to take pictures today. We might have remembered if we had passed an island or seen a whale. It’s taking a while to get back into a shipboard routine. I’m still trying to process the news and finding it hard to relax and enjoy myself.

Today’s fabric is Frisky Floating Moody, by Zen Chic for Moda.
